Another Mo Salah THREAD, but not as we know it...Let& #39;s take a look at his 2016/17 Roma season to look at some possible reasons as to why Liverpool signed him. First things first - 15 Serie A Goals

This wasn& #39;t Top Goalscorer material, however: He was (joint) top goalscorer for left footed players in Serie A, his goal return was higher than his xG and interestingly he led the charts for most assists in Serie A with 11

Now let& #39;s look at some things LFC may have been looking for...He fit the bill at 24 years old. He was Top 5 xG & xA (per90) in Serie A (and the only non CF player), and he was ranked #1 in 16/17 for Key Passes with 39

Salah had a great season & #39;Pressing from the front& #39; recovering the ball 70.3% of the time over 2576 mins (91x in the opp half) & this has continued to date with his 20/21 LFC season clocking in at 74.7% opp half recoveries from 2717 mins played (4/8)
Some other things to note: Mo Salah was largely used as a RAMF in 1-4-2-3-1 formation which makes his return arguably more impressive all things considered although he did infrequently play in his more LFC similar RWF position on occasion (5/8)
Salah was 24 years old at the end of the 16/17 season still classing him largely in the & #39;Youth& #39; category of most squads with players moving to their & #39;Peak& #39; years after 24 position depending (6/8)
Mo Salah would also have led the Assist charts for LFC that same season (Coutinho #1 with 8) and had the same amount of goals as Firmino and only 2 less than Coutinho & Mane albeit in a different caliber league; It is not surprising at all that LFC were interested though (7/8)
