I awoke on the morning after the 2019 GE in slightly stunned disbelief that the Tories had won by a landslide. How could so many people have been conned by their dishonesty? Then I discovered that the Tories only increased their vote share by 1.5% when compared to 2017. 1/3
That doesn't justify an 80 seat majority. Clearly something is wrong with our democracy. That something is FPTP - an outdated Electoral System that leads to Govts being formed on a minority of the vote. FPTP ignores millions of votes and needs to go. PR is it's replacement. 2/3
PR is a fairer Electoral System that recognises everyone's vote & ensures that Parliament reflects how they voted. No more minority Govts, safe seats or confrontational 2 party politics. Instead we'll have collaborative politics that acts for the good of the Country not the Party
