We think a lot of things are insignificant, but in the grand scheme of things, it is the start of a ripple effect.
You see that security guard you give N500 every other day and hails you every time, wait till when you stop doing that and his attitude changes towards you - entitlement.
Look at everything around you, it started at some point. It was a minor problem. Something we didn't give attention to. Your life, the government, your partners disrespect, your family.
You remember when he/she raised her voice at you over a difference and called you names. Don't let it slide. Deal with it there and then. Else, it's the beginning of something much bigger.
Do you remember when your partner asked you for money to buy something specifically they used the money on frivolities instead? Oh, they shoved it off as nothing? Check him/her!
"we had an argument and he/she pushed me but I understand he/she was just angry" - anger shouldn't make you hurt someone you love. - deal with that immediately. Check them.
- If you don't know, the little things matter. No matter how little it is, if it's recurrent, it will spark up something larger. Don't shove it aside. Deal with it.
And as negative as this may seem, there is a flip side. A good side. A positive one. When those little good things that seem unimportant are what you eventually tend to refer back to.
