I’m sure you’re all aware of these and a few other pictures circling round at the moment of people at the Anti-Lockdown protests wearing the yellow Star Of David on their shirts.

For some who don’t know the full story of how wrong this is, I’ve put together this:

Starting with the symbol itself:

The Star Of David is the modern symbol for Judaism and Jewish identity.

The Nazis forced Jews and those who had Jewish relatives to wear these stars. They were forced to have it at a specific size. if it was too small, they would be prosecuted.

Here is a picture of the Nuremberg Laws.

As the picture shows, this was set as a law to stop Jewish people from being able to marry and have relationships.

It was now a crime to be in a relationship with a Jewish person or somebody with close Jewish heritage.

Also, these weren’t the only symbols the Nazis forced on specific people.

The pink triangle was enforced on people who were homosexuals. They were also a group of people the Nazis murdered in the concentration camps.

Their heads were shaven and they were separated from family.

These are harrowing photos from the Auschwitz museum.

They are shoes from the inmates and resources the disabled would have needed. They were forcefully taken off them during the period of entering the camp.

Stop and look at one item one by one, that is somebody who died.

This is the entrance to Auschwitz concentration camp.

The letters on the banner read “work will free you”. The guards convinced the inmates while going in they would eventually come out again after they worked, but most of them never came out again.

Jewish businesses were highly discriminated against and it was increasingly looked down on if somebody was to enter one of these shops.

Nazi guards would stand outside the shops and tell people to not come in because it is ran by Jews.

It was hugely encouraged to report Jewish people who had not been identified by the Nazis.
Many were praised for reporting Jews and a lot of people looked for Jewish people in a hope for money from the Nazis.

They were not seen as people, but as an inferior race

FOLLOWING LOCKDOWN RULES AND KEEPING OTHER PEOPLE SAFE DURING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING TORTURED AND DEHUMANISED BY CRUEL AND EVIL PEOPLE.

Those who do not remember the past are more likely to repeat it.

I’d also like to bring peoples attention to these films and documentaries on Hitler and the Holocaust. They are both very very moving and extremely shocking. Please remember them.
