Wassup, I& #39;m thinking about that one Anastasia Sbi AU I ranted about a long while back so now imma just talk about it again
Tommy being a lost prince who& #39;s always grown up with a chain around his neck attacked to a small key. He remembers nothing of when he was younger, only that his name was once Theseus, and that this little key is all he has left before he came to the orphanage
With him newly turning 16, he goes out to look for work, to try and get a job. He& #39;s immediately dragged in by Tubbo, who literally runs into him on the street then goes "hey wait you match that description PERFECTLY oh you& #39;ll work-" "what" "follow me and I& #39;ll give u money"
Tommy gets yanked over to Schlatt, who& #39;s lookin to scam the king with the current long lost search for the missing prince, who went missing during a terrible fire years ago. After some back and forth tossing over money and stuff, Tommy agrees on the basis that he gets PAID
Cue Tubbo and Tommy being like "recite your lines! You gotta BE a prince" "These lines sound stupid" "just read the paper, man" they got to have everything down just right if they& #39;re going to do well, bc over the years the king has become bitter and cold
Phil& #39;s been in mourning ever since Tommy went missing, and while he hopes for Tommy to come back, his heart is crushed each time an imposter comes through the doors claiming to be his son, when it is obvious they& #39;re just trying to trick him
The twin princes have practically lost hope, and while they dont agree with Phil continuing the search with all the fakes, they still sit with Phil as more possible "princes" come through the castle doors. Each time theres a fake, their matching glares are brutal.
Schlatt pokes around a bit at Tommy and his past, and realizes that there& #39;s a high chance he& #39;d found the actual prince. Underneath Tommy& #39;s sleeves, there& #39;s burn marks that he cant explain, he says all he really remembers is being taken away in a cart in the middle of the night
Tommy& #39;s disappearance was due to a botched kidnapping, which ended in the kidnappers abandoning him in the snow, and a stranger coming along helping the poor kid, then giving him away to an orphanage when he was better. Whether or not that stranger was Schlatt is up to u
Tommy would eventually get into the castle too late, the royal family refusing to see anyone else for the time being. He nails his lines, gets it all right, unlike anyone else, bc Tubbos drilled him well. Even then, the royal family refuses any visits, and he lingers around
He& #39;s meant to stay in a guest room, but he wanders off to the library instead. He& #39;s approached by Phil, who& #39;s curious to see who& #39;s this next fake. His heart is closed up and he& #39;s cold and distant, and Tommy is a fumbling, mannerless mess.
Phil demands to know why Tommy is really here, and Tommy admits he& #39;s just trying to find out what happened to his family. He says he lost them a while ago, lost everything, and the only thing he has left of them is a key and a name.
Phil is skeptical, but he asks for the key anyway, Tommy holding it out, talking about how it reminds him of his favorite song, but he doesn& #39;t remember much of the song by now. Phil is silent for a long while, bc the key Tommy has belongs to the music box he loved as a child
It was a music box Wilbur gave him, and he would play it on repeat in that way that kids do when they& #39;re ridiculously attached to something. When Phil asks for his real name, Tommy says its Theseus. He used to be Theseus, but & #39;Tommy& #39; has been his nickname ever since
Phil is still wary, still scared to hope, so he brings an old music box that Wilbur has tucked away in his room. Phil asks for the key from Tommy, then uses it to wind the music box up, letting it play for Tommy.
"Hey, I know this... This is the song, this one! That& #39;s my song!"

*hits table* Phil hugging Tommy like a lifeline with the music box playing on the ground!! Tommy hugging back, ecstatic to finally have found what hes looking for!! Tommy immediately asking to see his brothers the second Phil pulls away!!
Reunion!! Wilbur and Techno being angry that there& #39;s another fake trying to trick Phil again, only for them to pause at the small sound of a music box in Tommy& #39;s hands, a music box that lost its key a long long time ago
