By means of background I’m quite familiar with ANZAC day services and have participated in a formal way in many ....
3/ whilst a single poppy may not be associated with ANZAC day in Australia it is in NZ.

The first ‘Poppy Day’ in NZ was the 24th April 1922

Unlike the practice in other countries, the NZRSA did not hold its inaugural Poppy Appeal in association with Armistice Day (11 November)

5/. The annual ‘Poppy Day Appeal’ which is held on a Friday before #ANZAC day in NZ is entrenched in NZ culture.

Funds are raised to support the welfare of returned servicemen & women & their dependents

6/ If you happen to be in New Zealand for #ANZAC day be sure to look out for the collectors on the streets on Poppy Day.

Wear your Poppy with pride on ANZAC day knowing you are supporting those who have given so much.
