Info about Rohit Sharma batting position from ipl 2008 to 2021.

As a thread

From 2008 to 2010 ipl he was in Deccan chargers & he mostly batted at no. 5 & no. 6 position because there were players like Gilchrist,Symonds,Gibbs ,laxman& d Smith before him .
That's why he was given less chances as an opener .

In ipl 2011,
Mi openers were SRT & Jacobs & no. 3 was Rayudu .
He batted at no. 4 in whole the season.
In ipl 2012 ,
In starting Mi openers were SRT & R Levi after some matches openers were R Levi & T Suman
He batted at no. 3 in the whole season .

In 2013 ipl he became the Captain of Mi
But still he gave opening slot to SRT & ponting & no.3 slot to Karthik
And when SRT & ponting not played , he gave opening slot to d Smith & tare.
He himself batted at no. 4 in the whole season.

In ipl 2014 ,
He sacrificed opening slot for Simmons & Hussey/gautam
& no.3 position for Anderson/Rayudu.
He batted at no.4 in most of the matches.
In ipl 2015,
He sacrificed opening position for Simmons & Parthiv & no.3 position for u chand & Rayudu
He batted mostly at

After opening in some matches in 2015,16 he was doing good at opening but In 2017 ipl
He sacrificed his positions for young talent like Buttler, Parthiv & Rana. He batted at no.4 in most of the matches
In 2018 ipl,
He sacrificed opening for sky & Lewis & no. 3 for kishan .

In his 13 year ipl career , there are only four seasons in which he opened in most of the matches. The seasons are 2016,19 & 20,21
In 2016 he opened because after opening in some matches in 2015 he was in good form
In 2019 he opened bcoz Ishan was not in form In ipl 2018
