Allah (swt) says:

This verse is easy to understand. Keep righteous company around you at all
times. We at a time where your friends are protecting you when you sin rather than telling you to fear Allah and repent. You see this problem on social media all the time where when a person sins in public and you remind them to fear Allah & repent is always them friends they got
quick to protect their sins by saying leave her/him alone “only Allah can judge them” or “let them live their lives. First of all Allah will definitely judge them and there will be consequences for every sin. You rather have friends who care for you in this dunya & in akhirah.
You must surround yourself around those who are beloved to Allah. Friends who stick up for you every time you sin will be your enemy soon or later or they will expose your sins. You will never see friends who are upon misguidance having a loyal relationship.
Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah put it best when he said:
“When people help one another in sin and transgression, they finish by hating each other.”
I’m sure some of us can relate to this
quote.

Have friends that are there for you good & bad times. Friends who will make dua for you when you sick or long after your death. Friends who will raise money for your sadaq jariyah when you in that dark lonely grave. Friends when they see you sin advise you to repent. You dnt want
friends around you who constantly gossip and backbite about others for they will do the same thing to you behind your back. And in some cases expose your secrets. Having a friends who remind you of Allah and want nothing but good for you now & akhirah hold onto them.

“And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our
remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect.”

Be around those whose appearance reminds you of Allah, and whose speech increases you in knowledge, and whose actions remind you of the hereafter.
May Allah guide us all and grant us righteous friends who will constantly remind us of Allah & in the hereafter. Ameen.
