It’s clear that @tedwheeler doesn’t want to be mayor not enjoy the job. Even he has to admit to himself he isn’t good at it. So he brought a former mayor in to do it for him.

He had talented women running against him with the skills to fix our city but chose to buy re-election.
He knows he is not equipped for the job but the same mentality that tells you to climb Mount Everest for no reason, or lose your wife for a city that doesn’t love you, or call being mayor a “calling not a job” is the same mentality that gets us here. White savior.
And to be clear, I don’t think he’s evil. He’s a product of environment like all of us. Grew up a rich timber baron heir and is built his political career with Gordon Sondland and the business alliance. What are we to expect? An uprising hero?
The problem is Portland deserved better and rather than allow that improvement to run its course he illegally bought his election and we are all less safe, less prosperous, and more angry - because of it.
Ted is 30 years older than me and holds a grudge for what was admittedly a hard fought campaign. I have let that grudge go while he remains childish. But I cannot let go what he has done to our community.
