I really love how chess is being used as a metaphor in #VincenzoEp17. After so many hours I’m still marveling at the attention to detail and the beautiful foreshadowing PJB likes to use. Might try to make this wild train of thoughts that I need to get out into a thread.
Early on in #VincenzoEp17 we have Vincenzo playing chess with HIMSELF. In that shot you can see him knocking down a KING piece. Now this could symbolize him DELIBERATELY taking himself, the BLACK KING out of the picture.
Cut to this shot later where we zoom in on this row of defeated/pieces that have been used by Vincenzo. You see a WHITE PAWN amongst a row of black chess pieces. This white pawn could symbolize Vincenzo having someone from the oppent’s side on his team. #VincenzoEp17
The fallen Black King and the white pawn combined makes me think that the shooting at the end of #VincenzoEp17 might just very well be a plot. Vincenzo TAKES HIMSELF OUT OF THE GAME with the help of his WHITE PAWN, Han Seo.
In chess, the QUEEN piece it’s actually more powerful than the KING. She is able to move in ALL directions across the board, whereas the KING can only move one space at a time in one direction. This to me symbolizes Cha Young’s power. And it’s been there all along! #VincenzoEp17
With the KING off the board the QUEEN has FREE REIGN. As QUEEN, Cha Young can move freely in any direction she wants. In Korea, she has more freedom to work with her knowledge of the law than Vincenzo, the KING can. We will DEFINITELY see her shine in #VincenzoEp18 #VincenzoEp17
Now I’m still really curious about the identity of the Bishop. I wonder who could that be. Maybe it’s Luca? I guess we’ll find out tonight? 🤔 #VincenzoEp17 #VincenzoEp18
