what pansexuality actually is and why it’s not biphobic !!

- a very needed thread https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🧵" title="Thread" aria-label="Emoji: Thread">
pansexuality falls under the multisexual spectrum (just like bisexuality), and it basically means that you are attracted to all genders and you do not have a gender preference
it’s different from bisexuality because typically a bisexual person will have a preference of one gender over another, although this isn’t always the case
stop telling pansexuals that they’re just bisexual, it’s very harmful. they just feel more comfortable with a label that highlights the fact that they don’t have a preference of gender and it is valid. if you don’t have a preference and you identify as bi that’s also valid!!!
there’s a lot of misinformation going around and it all contributes to pansexuality being viewed as biphobic so let’s talk about that. pansexuality ISN’T gender-blind, do not call it that because it implies that bisexuality only looks at gender/sex and that’s just not true
the phrase “hearts not parts” also is harmful because it implies that bisexuals only care about sex in a relationship. STOP SAYING THAT.
a lot of sources claim that pansexuality includes trans and nonbinary people and bisexuality doesn’t, which is incorrect. this implies that bisexuality is transphobic and enbyphobic which is why people think pansexuality is biphobic.
in conclusion..
please educate yourselves before you continue invalidating identities that are 100% capable of existing together
