i hate the american healthcare system. i get medicaid because i'm disabled but trying to find someone that takes my insurance is impossible some times. 90% of the providers in my area either left or stop taking medicaid this year

and i have to drive an hour to orlando just for a regular doctors appointment. dentists and mental health providers that accept medicaid are non existent as well. ive been trying to get into a psychologist for a year with no luck because the only place here never gets back to us

and i haven't been able to get a referral from my current gp or any in the past because i haven't been institutionalized. even though last year i was almost hospitalized for a anxiety/stress induced migraine where i couldn't do anything for 3 days.

the last time i tried to explain to my doctor that my mental health stops me from doing a lot of things in my life and i wanted a referral to a psychologist, the only thing he told me was to "try going outside and sleeping more" and then gave me a referral to religious counseling

not to mention all the shit my mom has had to go thru for my sister to get help for her autism. stupid doctors trying to give her pills she didn't need, having to drive up to 2 hours away, jumping thru hoops with the insurance company to make sure her medicine is covered ect.

this thread is all ready long enough so, fuck the american health care system. most of the people i know don't have insurance and haven't been a doctor in years because of it and the ones that do have it, it fucking sucks and barely covers the things you need it to
