I was gonna hold my tongue on this but it’s seriously agitating and disheartening to see that only the opinions of white people regarding the opinion piece are the only ones being praised, considered and listened to.
In a conversation about inclusion and race matters within the theme park community, once again, the voices of POC were not considered or heard. And once again, we are made to feel that our thoughts on matters that we should have some on, will never matter. It’s sad.
Once I saw bigger names chiming in, mainly the voices of white men, I knew that everything I had spoken up on, wouldn’t matter. Which begs the question, when, as a black female Disney creator, will my voice finally matter?
I have been speaking on this issue for so long and it’s like screaming at the sky because I have only been told that I’m the worst thing to happen to the fandom, a hypocrite and using the minority card to play victim smh.
Meanwhile White men say their thoughts on it and gets immediate praise on it. I’m so tired.....
