Creators who are critical of a game or “hate” on a game don’t always deserve your admiration (myself included).

People think it takes balls to “stand up to the man” and “speak your mind!” but in reality it doesn’t at all.

No developer I’ve worked with has ever told me to (cont)
stop being critical of their game. No developer has threatened to remove access or creator perks.

On the contrary, being negative can be intoxicating to content creators.

When you’re negative you get FLOODED with comments giving you credit for speaking out. (Cont)
Your viewers will call you a man of the people. You’ll never be called a shill. You’ll be looked at as a credible source who’s not afraid to speak your mind. Admired, even.

All this makes you feel good. Thus, you’re more likely to be critical in the future as well (cont)
On the other hand, creators who are positive generally get accused of being up the developer’s ass, detached from the community & a sellout.

It’s EASY to levy criticism. It’s very tempting because critical videos get MORE views.

It’s much more “difficult” to be optimistic.
Of course, criticism is very often justified & necessary. Creators shouldn’t shy away from talking about community pain points, esp those of their subscribers.

But be cautious of giving creators too much “credit” when they complain all the time. They may just be pandering. 🤷‍♂️
