Anyway, this also consists of sabotaging birth control by destroying bc pills, purposely damaging condoms, refusing to wear condoms, forcing a person to terminate or carry a pregnancy to full term by way of threats/intimidation, & rape (particularly while the person is sleeping).

It has strong co-occurrence with IPV but can also occur without other forms of abuse being present. From the populations studied, it was reported to happen in 8%-16% of those populations.

It’s still not a lot of research on it but it’s not uncommon. It’s also not always the sexual partner who is the perpetrator. It can be parents, other family members who are responsible for care or family members of the partner.
