Suddenly he& #39;s a good prospect now, that& #39;s weird https://twitter.com/DraftExpress/status/1385753581983305730">https://twitter.com/DraftExpr...
I don& #39;t want to cast aspersions, plenty of recruiting and scouting services take money to rank certain players, it& #39;s what the shoe circuits exist to do. I don& #39;t even have a problem with it ethically. It& #39;s taking money *not* to rank guys that bothers me.
Not saying that& #39;s definitely what happened with Mathurin, but he should be a top 20 pick this year, there& #39;s no projection needed. If he blows his knee out next season, will Givony or whoever else deliberately undervalued him going to compensate him for the salary he& #39;s missing out
They absolutely have to pay these players, is my point. It& #39;s either incompetence or someone& #39;s being paid. You can& #39;t go from barely in the top 75 one day to "potential top 20 pick" the next organically.
If you see an account like Overtime or Ballislife tweeting video of a high schooler with a caption like "TOUGH," they were paid to do that. Usually by a shoe company looking to increase brand awareness of a potential future star. It just feels slimier to me when ESPN is doing it.
