Anyone else think it is crazy that in US, someone can buy cigarettes or drink liters of soda, but is not allowed to know their blood sugar levels w a simple sensor without having a doctor’s prescription.

I’m referring to a broad topic of needing prescriptions
In this example I’m thinking of particular glucose monitoring systems that use simple sensors that sticks on skin like Libre FreeStyle device. Some devices are OTC. But MOST testing across the board is prescription only.

The real point I was attempting to make in the tweet is that if we can harm ourselves, why can’t we know about ourselves.
I feel it should be a basic right that we should be allowed to know about ourselves, inside and out, W/out need for an MD or prescription.
