sometimes i think there must be two different versions of the mcu just based on how t*ny st*rk fans interpret the movies versus how steve rogers (or any other character to some extent) fans interpret them. (1/6)
like obviously different people are going to have different interpretations, experiences, likes/dislikes about any given film/set of films, but it really feels like the st*rk and rogers fans are dealing with entirely different texts. (2/6)
and i don't think marvel studios helped any, because they really leaned into the st*rk VERSUS rogers narrative even before the mess that was civil war, and then that mess was just truly the messiest. (3/6)
also i think the comics must be a variable as well, like even with my relatively limited knowledge of them i know it affects my response to steve and to a lesser extent to t*ny. so i'm sure if someone loves the IM comics they're more likely to stan t*ny in the mcu. (4/6)
but also the number of times i see people acting like there's NO WAY someone could see t*ny st*rk as anything but a martyred angel and steve rogers as, like, j*ss wh*d*n's paper cutout of a stick-in-the-mud jerk is just BAFFLING to me. (5/6)
anyway i'm forever pressed that the mcu fucked up steve rogers' storyline so entirely largely in the service of canonizing t*ny st*rk and that so many people went along with it and also can people plz stop begging for rdj to be brought back when RIRI EXISTS, END THREAD. (6/6)
