1. I think most of you understand bat swings are a practiced motor response, they shouldn't be thought about (which would add to reaction delay). So the concept of contact points being "fixed" has everything to do with where in any location the ball and bat meet #HittingTwitter
2. In this series of photos, the tees positioned along the Z coordinate of this pitch location show a single optimal contact point within the coordinate. You can't be late or early and still hit the ball on the sweet spot. That is the basis of timing. #HittingTwitter
3. Simply because you are on plane with the pitch, as illustrated in the swing sequence in post 1 of this thread, doesn't mean you will hit the ball optimally. Only one position will be optimal, and this applies to every hitter, regardless of swing type. #HittingTwitter
