now having read the whole thing this makes me really excited. i wasn't too familiar with the way academy/amateur worked before this but the format laid out in the article makes me hopeful that there will be many opportunities for talent to be noticed and rewarded :)

this is how NA becomes internationally competitive we need to support the amateur scene and establish a pipeline where talented amateur players can be drafted for spots on Academy and LCS rosters. although it's important that these new pick ups aren't just tossed aside when

an org picks up a new star EU or KR player. it will be difficult for amateurs to compete with the well established careers of a player an org might want to import so i hope NA orgs will decide to take a chance on NA talent instead of going all in on imports
