if you don’t know: “jail bait wait” is a media trope in which an adult character (in this case, josh) waits for their underage love interest (ITC, maya) to become a legal adult to pursue romantic/sexual relationships. obvi. something disney shouldn’t have endorsed.(cont.)

minors having crushes on adults—be they celebrities or ppl in their lives—is normal and OK. what isn’t OK is the adult avoiding setting clear boundaries and allowing the minor to openly act on impulses they don’t fully grasp the importance of yet. (cont.)

disney should’ve known better than to display a relationship like this on a show with an audience of impressionable, primarily elementary/middle school aged girls. and it’s just one of many of the harmful moments on this show. i’m glad it’s gone. (end thread)
