President Biden has just formally acknowledged and recognized the Armenian genocide.

What this means:
1. For the first time in the history of the United States, it is the official position of the Congress, Senate, and the Presidential Administration that what happened in 1915 was a genocide committed by Turkey against ethnic Armenians.
2. We now have more avenues to pursue restitution and property claims in the United States court system, citing these positions as precedent.
3. Laying the foundation for state level recognition — especially by a world power like the United States, will hopefully encourage more nations to stand on the right side of history, including some NATO allies who may have been hesitant due to their relationship with Turkey.
4. The road to justice is similar to ladder, without the fundamental step of official recognition, we can not climb towards our ultimate goal — restitution and reparations to the Armenian.
5. This not the end, but a new begging on our path to restoring the rights of our people — then, and only then, can we claim justice.
