In a huge move for MLS, pint-sized terror Yeferson Soteldo will join Toronto from Santos, reportedly with 75% of the player's rights valued at $6.5m.

Soteldo has had two seasons with high attacking output and good ball retention at LW for Santos. He's been involved in a disproportionate share of the goals at his past three clubs. In 2020 his passing really started to flourish:

He links up near midfield and then turns into an avid dribbler who can also cross with accuracy. Sound like anyone you know?

Well, no one in MLS has done it for 950'+. But if we go to Europe's top five leagues, here are the players with the most similar styles to Soteldo's in the 2020 Brasileirão. You will have heard of some of these guys.

How about a head-to-head comparison with Zaha and Hazard? They're all big dribblers, and Soteldo is almost as skillful as Hazard, with better ball retention than Zaha.

As you can see above, Soteldo didn't shoot much in 2020. When he did, he only scored from close to goal. In 2019 his shots were more concentrated in dangerous areas. If he combines his 2019 shot map with his dribbling and crossing from 2020, he'll be some player in MLS.
