A Girl & Her Wolf
————————

EXT. SNOW COVERED FIELD, MOUNTAIN EDGE & TREE LINE - DAY

BETHANY is in the forest peering outward to the field & sees frantic wild wolves running towards her, a large pure White Wolf leads, a helicopter appears.
CLOSE ON.

BETHANY

(Exasperated) This way WAKHAN! This way!!

PAN.

WAKHAN runs past Bethany, and into the back of a pick up truck parked nearby, the four other large wolves continue to run into the deep forest.
CUT TO:

INT. LANDED HELICOPTER - CONTINUOUS.

JOURNALIST

(Turns to cameraman)

Wow, did you see that?! Did you get it?

CAMERAMAN

Yeah, I got it, I got it all.

A man with a rifle chimes in.

RIFLEMAN

This pack nearly
killed one of my men working on the Pipeline, and need to be taken care of.

JOURNALIST

That’s not how I heard the story.

RIFLEMAN

What do you mean? Who did you talk to?

JOURNALIST

The guy you claim almost got killed.
The Journalist looks at the pilot.

JOURNALIST

Let’s go, I need to interview the girl’s GRANDMOTHER, and that’s not out here (speaking under her breath) And learn more about that magnificent White Wolf

RIFLEMAN

Bethany calls the White Wolf
Wakhan, it means ‘power’ in Sioux.

JOURNALIST

Yeah I know. (Gives whirl hand gesture toward pilot.)

CUT TO:

Wakhan jumps from the truck, and growls in the direction of some trees under shadow, Bethany walks up behind her looking in the same direction.
BETHANY

What is it girl?

Bethany turns back toward the truck, she reaches in the cab, and grabs her bow - she loads an arrow quickly then points it towards the dark trees, Wakhan continues to growl. Suddenly a wisp of ringing sound along with a yelp,
blood sprays onto Bethany covering her white winter coat with red mist, Wakhan falls to the ground, Bethany puts her hand to her own neck, and notices she’s wounded, Bethany faints next to Wakhan the wolf’s white fur also wet with red.

REVERSE ANGLE:

A shadowy figure behind
a tree raises his rifle while pondering whether or not to go out to where Bethany, and Wakhan lay. The mysterious man suddenly jumps on his ATV, and leaves hurriedly.

DISSOLVE TO:

Bethany awakens, she pushes herself up over Wakhan putting her ear to wolf chest, tears fall from
her eyes as Wakhan breathes deep. Bethany pulls a phone from her coat pocket.

BETHANY

I’m calling for help girl.

CUT TO:

Four wolves slowly walk out of the shadows from behind the trees, and pause a few feet away from where they lay on the ground.
PAN:

Bethany stares back at the other wolves while someone on the other end of the phone picks up.

OPERATOR

911 what is your emergency?

FLASHBACK:

(THREE DAYS AGO)

INT. COFFEE SHOP - DAY

Bethany, and the Journalist sit across each
other at a coffee shop table, the Journalist pushes record on her cell phone.

JOURNALIST

Thank you for agreeing to meet with me Bethany, I’m just going to record this for the article, this is a potential national story, even could be a world wide story.
BETHANY

No problem, I’m hoping people will understand, and try to help their plight, it seems like no one cares.

JOURNALIST

How did you tame a wild wolf?

BETHANY

Wakhan is not tame.
End opening scenes of ‘A Girl, and Her Wolf,’ Twitplay inspired by the incredible art at the beginning of this thread. The potential for a full blown screenplay on this idea is great.
