Will be starting a new "Saturday Thread" series on my account that I will be continuously building upon and covering different topics... The Thread of All Threads!

Here we go 🙌
Being a Veterinary student I feel as if this is a great place to start, and provide some insight into some animal medicine stock plays, and the companies I have used on a daily basis.

/// SATURDAY THREAD! \\\\\\
1) Idexx Labratories, Inc ( $IDXX )

One of the largest diagnostic and information tech company's in the space. Market leaders in point-of-care instruments, and lab services. One of the company's clinics wouldn't be able to run without and has a re-occurring revenue service.
2) Zoetis ( $ZTS )

Discovers, develops, and manufactures medicines, vaccines, and diagnostic products internationally across species. Seasonal parasite products necessitate consumers to return, with Veterinary associations often fully supporting and assisting in development.
3) Chewy ( $CHWY )

Leading online retailer of pet food and supplies, somehow able to compete with larger retailers such as Walmart and Amazon. Approach contains a subscription based growth model with a number of specialist representatives providing personalized services.
4) Spectrum Brands Holdings ( $SPB )

A brand you may know from some of your own household products, they also offer a number of treats and grooming consumer staples that make up over 25% of total sales. Very stable holding, showing almost 9% growth over the last year.
5) Canopy Growth Company ( $CGC )

Little bit of a reach, but with recent endorsement from Martha Stewart they provide a CBD product to assist animals with arthritis, and anxiety. Just like in human medicine, this is a growing field that will expand as does the research.
Next weeks topic will be - How, and Why You Need to Join the Crypto Revolution
How, and Why You Need to Join the Crypto Revolution!

This is the second, of many threads in the series...Here we go 🙌

/// SATURDAY THREAD \\\\\\
1) Decentralized 💰

No longer do you need to survive between the hours of 9:30am - 4pm! Crypto markets run 24/7 365 🗓️due to the fact there is no governing body. By saying that, some coins are not fully decentralized.

Continued...
Whether that be due to a group/project having control over a large portion of the circulating supply, or the ability to go in and make fundamental changes to the code, you need to do your due diligence just as stock research and look into the team.

Continued...
Often coins/projects require liquidity, and this allows the establishment of coins own yield curves which are often significantly higher than current financial system counterparts. (Stable coins upwards of 8%, BTC 4.5% on @cryptocom with no CRO collateral)

Continued...
Cost effective, immediate peer-to-peer transfers of assets. While not fully optimized (building layer 2 solutions on top of original code @lightning) in the case of BTC allows anyone, anywhere around the world, to send any amount of money without interference or say from others.
2) None discriminatory
It doesn't matter if you have 6-figures, or less then 10$ to funnel into a project ANYONE can own fractional assets in this space. Male, female, non-binary there's no limitations to who can own crypto.

Continued...
In the case of $BTC, a POW (proof of work) coin, those who have established a full validating node can vote towards governance decisions that can ultimately affect the underlying code.

Continued...
In the case of $ADA, a POS (proof of stake) coin, those who hold the coin can vote towards governance decisions that can ultimately affect the underlying code.

Continued...
Similar to some stock holder options that allow you to have a say in the direction, or board members associated with the company the ability to vote and have your voice heard is an uncommon, but welcomed feeling.
3) Early asset comparable to the internet 🪙📈

A number of those in the same age range as me (early 20-30s) have had quite an uphill battle in terms of fighting off inevitable debt and acquiring assets.

Continued...
While our parents, and their parents had the industrial, and internet revolutions respectively as opportunities to build wealth, the crypto market is looked at as that same opportunity for our generation.

Continued...
Not very often do retail investors hop on the train before the BIG money, but in this instance, they have been riding it already for some time! The entire crypto market cap just broke 2 Trillion dollars...less than the FANG stocks combined 👀

(slightly outdated)
4) Fixed Tokenomics (Coded Arithmetic) 🧮

While in 2020/21 we have seen unprecedented fiat printing in various currencies around the world, this provides uncertainty in metrics such as inflation, and yield curves investors rely upon to make decisions.

Continued...
SOME not all cryptocurrency coins have a fixed supply, and therefore predictable inflation we can follow. #Bitcoin for example, undergoes a halving every 4-year cycle meaning miners get half the reward per block mined.

Continued...
This allows us to track every BTC coin ever made, projecting the last of the 21million ever will be mined in 2140. There are already 18/21 million that will ever be circulating...just think of how many of that 18 have been lost forever.
5) R&D driver for green energy

One of the major criticisms of BTC is its energy demands from the POW system. Little have done the research to find a majority of the energy is actually green as there are incentives to use the cheapest source available.

Continued...
A number of companies in gas/energy are utilizing BTC miners to capture and exploit otherwise wasted energy being released. The number of symbiotic relationships is growing & providing means of advancement in an otherwise stagnant, "old & boring" field.

6) Exchanges 🤝
Similar to a stock brokerage, this is where transactions take place with the conversion of fiat (USD, CAD, EURO) to various cryptocurrencies. Some of the largest names in the space would be - @coinbase , @binance , @cryptocom
7) Hot vs. Cold Wallet

Hot - Usually a wallet offered by exchanges, is connected to the internet. ( @RobinhoodApp )

Cold - You own your keys, disconnected from the internet. What most suggest. ( @exodus_io)

Continued...
OWN YOUR KEYS. If there is one thing you take from this thread it is DO NOT use a wallet/exchange that doesn't allow you to own your personal keys, and allow the removal of the coins themselves rather than the fiat alternative.

Continued...
Your key is a statement/collection of words that acts as a password to retrieve holdings if lost. This is the essence of what gives coin owners their unmatched property rights. I'm sure you've heard the horror stories, not being able to retrieve old BTC as they forgot theirs🙃
Sorry for making this thread so long, but as you can tell I am quite passionate about the topic!

Please let me know if I missed anything, or if you have any questions!🙌
