OXYGEN - or the lack of it. The biggest predicament & the word being thrown about in news.
As someone who& #39;s in the industry, I& #39;ll try to sum up the issue for those who may not be clear.
Oxygen is produced by big manuftrs like Praxair Linde, Air products etc. (1/n)

They& #39;re given to industrial & medical industries. Usually in most companies the split is larger for the former. Although there are separate gradients for the two, most factories produce it in the same. Now for the transport to happen, there needs to be spl cryogenic containers.
These containers will atleast take 2 days to fill from a filling station. This is a problem when there& #39;s a sudden unexpected surge in requirement, since this much turnaround time isn& #39;t feasible even through most of our major producers & consumers are diverting all indstr. to med.
Cities which aren& #39;t quite nearby any filling station or a O2 consuming plant will find life even tougher. Since it& #39;s flammable it can& #39;t be air transported also. Plus many hospitals need to better their infrastructure to increase O2 carrying capacity by about 3-4 times atleast.
Few states are able to cope up, but if the numbers are going out of hand, then it& #39;ll be disastrous. Let& #39;s try not to venture out anywhere. Not all of us (esp daily bread earners) are lucky enough to have WFH jobs. Few are. In any case let& #39;s try our best to be diligent.Take care.
