This past week, I've spoken to several people in a village in Jharkhand pleading with them to get vaccinated. I've had zero success.

There is a massive wall of misinformation that has been built for months now. Here are a few examples of what people are seeing.

I've never seen messages of this sort in my urban circles but videos such as these that flip the science 180° are rampant.

This one claims that masks actually cause covid rather than help.

Videos such as this one are *extremely* common. Note that I only receive a fraction of what's really out there. Many aim at fostering mistrust in hospitals and doctors.

The claim here is human experimentation in the guise of covid hospitalization.

Several videos are old and keep circulating to adapt to the latest hoax theory.

This one was shared with an accompanying message begging people not to take the vaccine because you will be registered for such procedures.

Again, I have not been able to persuade even one person, many of whom know and trust me since years.

The unshakable belief is that the vaccine causes illness.

"If everyone takes it and gets sick, who will do the work?"

"People are getting covid even after being vaccinated. Why should I take it and get sick then?"

"Nothing has happened to me so far. I burn camphor and drink lime juice. Aap apna khayal rakhna beta."

In one instance, a neighbour barged in to proclaim that nobody from their village would take the vaccine.

I wish I could be on the ground to challenge these everyday like I used to. For now, I'm just tired.
