MI took on DD, Sachin's 54 and Rohit's 73 helped MI to post a score of 161/4. But to everyone's surprise Ricky Ponting didn't bat on that day, even after 4th wicket. The Aussie stalwart going through a rough patch with scores of 28(33), 6(10),
0(6), 14(17) and 4(9). MI lost yet another match to Sehwag's brilliance. DD won by 9 wickets. Post match Ponting said "I'm not sure what happening out there." Shows how clueless ponting was at that point of time. No one knows what's going on in Ricky's mind. It's 3-3 for MI.

It's MI vs KKR that day. Moreover it's SRT's Birthday. Every MI fan prayed for 2 things,
1. MI's comeback; 2. Tendulkar's normality.
The rain in Eden has delayed the match by half-an-hour. Toss was rescheduled to 8:00 PM.
It's 7:50 PM, Ponting was shown on TV, he was warming up with the team, but not in match gear. Surprise surprise mothafuckas, we have some news here. PONTING WAS DROPPED, but that's not it, we have a question

WHO IS GOING TO LEAD MI?
The news scrolled out, "Breaking news, ๐‘๐จ๐ก๐ข๐ญ ๐’๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ฆ๐š ๐ญ๐š๐ค๐ž๐ฌ ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ ๐š๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐œ๐š๐ฉ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐Œ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐›๐š๐ข ๐ˆ๐ง๐๐ข๐š๐ง๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ž."
Rohit walked out for the toss along with Gambhir. Lost his first toss as captain. Ricky Ponting, Munaf and Bumrah out; Ojha and Chahal in. Everyone scrutinized and made fun of this MI's decision of making Ro Captain.
@ESPNcricinfo too did it's part by publishing those comments.
Stared with Harbhajan to Pathan, off-spin to Pathan in powerplay, well that's a bad move. But Mitchell J got him out in the 2nd over. Subsequently KKR posted a score of 159. MI chased it down. Dwayne Smith along with Rohit and Pollard took MI home. Rohit and fans were happy.
MI won next 10 (of 13) matches including Final. Dominated CSK in Final. A sweet revenge for 2010 Final.

But that's not all, Rohit, the captain who ended MI's tittle drought, was so humble and chivalrous that he invited Ponting to collect trophy along with him.
Years later, Rohit Sharma stands tall with 5 trophies as captain, most runs for MI, most runs in winning cause in IPL, and most man of the match awards for an Indian.
Yet, Captain is the least important person in the team in his rules book. (when he is the captain).
THE END.
