instead of complaining, start organizing. all you do is whine about dsa and shit. get out there! if you hate a political org, guess what? there are tens of millions out there with no affiliations. go to them instead of bashing another group’s work! https://twitter.com/ProudSocialist/status/1385607433377116171
this isn’t just a problem & spiritual disease of ryan “i was a warren democrat a year ago & now i’m to the left of lenin” knight but a common one. we tend to think the number of potential comrades is somehow limited when in fact there is, ahem, 300 million americans!

organize!
let’s talk about something we like to call the “turf war mentality”. this is the poisonous attitude that one org or collectives success is another org or collectives failure.

it’s the belief that there is “territory” in cities and communities that must be protected at all costs
people jealously guard their little fiefdoms, whether they be enormous NGOs or tiny anarchist clubs, with fanatical prejudice. any other org or collective is seen as an enemy.

this is capitalist ideology twisting our souls w/ hubris, competition, & a mentality more suited to a
small business than it is to a social struggle.
the “turf war mentality” is utterly destructive of coalition building. it encourages lies & deceit, front groups—whether founded by labor unions or little leninist cults—proliferate like fungus in such an environment & any trust or possibility of trust is swallowed up by the mold
unless there was a political org of ten million that really did run cities and counties like some of the cooler parties of the past, such as the FARC, there is no reason to act like the existence of a dsa chapter or trot reading group or an anarchist mutual aid program in your
town is some kind of mortal threat to you and your friends and your club—whatever it is.
