The Glazers ownership of Manchester United so far #GlazersOut

A THREAD:
I don't want to make this thread too long in order to make it more digestable, so forgive me if I miss a thing or two + I've written two drafts on this that have since been mistakenly deleted so I want to be quick with this one
Let's start at the beginning. Manchester United were first floated around the stock market in 1991 and were subject to some takeover over bids in the 90s with the most notable being Sky who were very close but lost out in the end
Jumping a few years into the future, Fergie was having a disagreement with Magnier and McManus(our largest shareholders at the time) concerning the rights of the Rock of Gibraltar. A £50m+ racehorse.
Magnier and McManus attempted to remove Fergie from his managerial role so the board responded by going out to look for other investors to combat the men's influence at the club.
The Glazers bought the club using £270m of their own money & £520m of borrowed money using the club and its assets as collateral. They took a club who were relatively debt free for decades and bought us with more than 60% borrowed money
Needless to say the fans were not happy but there wasn't much they could do. LUHG(Love United Hate Glazers) was formed some time after and the colours used( green and gold) represent the colours used by Newton Heath( the club that would go on to be called Manchester United)
As soon as the Glazers came in they disbanded the women's team because it was deemed to be not "profitable"

Thankfully we've got them back and they doing great
The Glazers have cost us a lot. From 2009-2019 we spent £838m on financing: £488m interest, £251m debt repayments and £99m dividends. Insane numbers
While all of that was happening they kept filling their pockets with dividends. £112m is the equivalent of two Bruno Fernandes and one Dan James.

They do that but not a penny to Old Trafford to help improve it
People keep saying that we've spent 1 billion in transfers. The problem with the Glazers is they don't have people with good footballing minds in the right positions. If you put Woodward in charge of transfers and you spend a billion more and you still wouldn't win the league
The Glazers micromanagement doesn't help things. Transfers, contracts and extentions take way too long to be green-lighted. One of the reasons why some of our players contracts run down to the last year before renewal talks take place
I know it's unrealistic for the Glazers to just sell the club all of a sudden but we NEED change. Whether the hashtags and protests will do anything I don't have an answer but like I said earlier. Change is needed and change is hopefully what we'll get in the end
For neutrals and rivals reading this, Glazers were the ones pushing for the esl in England so that should tell you just how little the care for anything other than money. There's no such thing as a perfect owner but that doesn't mean we should accommodate very bad ones
If you do not respect the fans don't entertain the thought of us respecting you #GlazersOut

Also my thread is quite average compared to the Athletic's article about the Glazers which is more in depth and better overall. I'll link it soon
