An appreciation post for Cambodian generosity: I wanted to use my bike to pick up a medication at the pharmacy but my tires were low on air. My landlord noticed and immediately insisted I use his bike. He adjusted the seat for me and everything
When I got back, he and his wife (who is equally kind) both told me I should feel free to use the bike any time I like
I still wanted to make sure my own bike would be rideable so I walked it over to the bike shop around the corner to get some air. They pumped my tires, greased my chain and tightened my brakes. Then they refused to be paid (don’t worry, I insisted and they relented)
This country is going through a crisis and all of the people I interacted with today (from a distance, in a mask) were unfailingly kind. Sappy tweet storm over.
