The world is already very familiar with the Armenian genocide, with the Syriac-Assyrian-Chaldean genocide (Sayfo) and the Greek genocide committed by the Turks between 1914-1918. But falsified history has taught people that the Mount Lebanon famine (Kafno) was just bad luck.
In this thread, I will aim to show you what I learned from @Amineiskandar2 & @tur_levnon 's conference about Kafno, that it was in fact an organized famine-genocide and not just a bad timing of locust arriving. I will be using images and information from the conference.
The Ottomans used force to do their other genocides, as geographically when word is spread, by the time aiding forces arrived, the genocide would've been already done, which is not the case in Lebanon geographically.
They learned from what happened in 1860 when Napoleon III came and ended the genocide going on at the time. The Ottomans noticed a start of malnutrition in the region, which of course does not kill half the population as what happened.
Mount Lebanon gained autonomy in 1860, in 1914 the Ottomans stripped that autonomy, and the region was handed to Djemal Pasha. And here started the steps that will eventually lead to the organized famine-genocide.
1-They sent away the missionaries who served as contact between the West and Mount Lebanon, so that no one could report what is going on, and they seized their monasteries, under the pretense of needing them as military bases.
2-Enver Pasha exiled all the Maronite bishops who had relations with Europe. He then started seizing construction material and food from houses. They seized livestock, they cut trees & forests.
To prove the above, remainings of old houses showed holes created in houses with the intention of hiding any food from the Ottoman army. They seized wheat, with the help of allied Germans which they then threw into the sea.
People started selling their clothes, and ripped the wood from their windows and doors and sometimes their whole land, in order to sell them just to be able to buy a little bit of wheat
The Ottomans used to mix in sand and rocks to make the wheat bags heavier, the bread produced from it came out black and only lasted for barely a day. People resorted to picking up what little wheat fell from the merchants. They even picked up undigested animal excrement.
Eating animal excrement resulted in many diseases like Typhoid, Cholera, Pestilence etc.. The Ottomans noticed the diseases so they seized all the drugs from every pharmacy (again under the pretense of needing them for their army) & exiled the doctors.
This is Charles Corm a Lebanese writer/poet, he used to distribute food to the poor and was captured by the Ottomans and put in prison as a result. All of this is documented as Charles Corm's children are alive today and a part of Tur Levnon.
The Jesuits in Lebanon started recording the events of every day on small papers & hid them in their socks to pass by the Ottomans & then wrote them down on their diaries.
There were also people taking photos, that's how we have these pictures today. The punishment of being caught was a death sentence.
In schools they teach us that only 30% of the population died, and the main reason being is Locust (الجراد). In reality over 50% died. There are documents showing the population of villages before & after the famine-genocide, dr. Amine gave a few examples:
Hardine had a population of 1,175, only 300 remained after. 225 died (red genocide), 650 immigrated (white genocide).

Aabrine population was 1,300, 320 remained. 630 died (50%), and 350 immigrated.
Chabtine population was 1,035, 175 remained, 650 died (around 60%), and 210 immigrated.

And of course the town of Bjerrine that I visited a couple of days ago, where no one remained.
The Ottomans published an article blaming it on the French, due to their sea blockades along the British.

But the French responded saying food in Lebanon comes from the east, not the coast, which you have a land blockade on, why are you closing this pathway?
There are also records from Prof. Antoine Boustany that showed in Druze villages wheat caravans had entered, in mixed Druze-Maronite villages, wheat wasn't allowed to enter and that's how thousands of Druze died. The famine-genocide targeted Maronites particularly.
Letters via the Lebanese diaspora in Cairo started reaching the West in 1916, and the West decided that the aid of Mount Lebanon must be kept secret. Because if the Ottomans find out they will stop the aid.
The Lebanese diaspora sent a lot of money, with which gold was purchased and sent to the Northern Syrian island of Arwad, which was under control of the French, via general Albert Trabeau (or sth like that). He takes this gold and brings it close to the Jounieh coast at night.
The Lebanese came at night, swam and took the gold back to Bkerké. If a swimmer gets caught, he gets sentenced with execution. This photo is of the bread bought with the gold by Bkerké which was then distributed to the poor population of Mount Lebanon.
Anyway, the whole lecture is two hours, but I hope everyone started to get the gist of it. I will stop here and post a link to the lecture if anyone is interested in watching. A lot more documents & records are discussed with massive proof. This thread is only to highlight it.
