Blue are pairs under 1-2km apart, red 2-5km apart.

Pretty crazy, no?
Very distinct density of pairs in horizontal bands
Purple: <250m
Green: 250-500m
Yellow:500-1000m
Blue: 1000-2000m
Red: 2000-5000m

The layering stops the more distant ones showing.

I think we can safely put the probability of using one of these squares as about the same as seeing a cat whilst out walking.

i.e. not all the time but often enough.
A chunk of the Highlands.

There are a lot of 2km-5km pairs here. These are in the dangerous range for confusion in mountain rescue IMHO.

Interesting that nearly all of the blue pairs and yellow pairs have the same angle/distance.
