BTW, most of the awful images you are seeing of breakdown in India are coming from private sector hospitals. The public ones, already severely inadequate, don't even bear thinking about. You are also seeing the consequences of one of world's poorest public healthcare sectors.
Even the desperate pleas for help/oxygen/Remdesivir on Twitter coming from people with some access to healthcare & to the internet. Think about the stories you are not hearing.
I've had recent experience of looking after a parent in a private hospital. Everything, down to the last glove the surgeon used or a hot water bottle, or a cup of extra tea is billed relentlessly. Most Indians don't have means to get there --you go through billing first.
