2/n First, that the spread of the virus is unaffected by human behaviour. Not exactly in line with decades of science.

3/n Second, Masks don't work. Here Ivor fails to distinguish between the proven effects of masks at the level of the individual with the cumulative effects of mask mandates at the level of the population.

4/n Three, Covid is "seasonal" despite the fact that surges in cases are reported throughout the world during all 4 seasons.

5/n Four, surges in cases are due to a phenomenon @FatEmperor calls "viral triggering". This is a phrase unique to Cummins.

6/n Five, @FatEmperor doesn't define what viral triggering is but he seems to be suggesting that viruses suddenly become infective due to some unexplained biological mechanism.

7/n When multiple waves occur in quick succession, as in Eastern Europe, @FatEmperor refers to it as "double hump triggering". This is also a phrase unique to Ivor Cummins.

8/n As it stands, @FatEmperor 's theory of viral triggering is unrefutable and in that sense (Ivor likes to quote Popper) it is not a scientific theory at all. In fact it's like a theory from the 19th century.

9/n Which is ironic given @FatEmperor 's (admittedly clever) repeated use of the term "science" a neat rhetorical trick.

10/n Why is @FatEmperor trying to spread such 19th century pseudoscience?
