South Norwood Primary School joined @thePioneerTPA in September 2018 after being rated "inadequate" by Ofsted. After 2 and a half years in the trust the school is still performing well below average in maths.

Edenbridge Primary School joined @thePioneerTPA in July 2018 after being rated "inadequate" by Ofsted. After almost 3 years in the trust the school is still performing below average in writing and well below average in maths.

@MoulsecoombSch is based in a community with high deprivation and 25% of pupils require special educational needs support, and yet is performing close to the national average in reading, writing and maths.

We know from a Freedom of Information Request that Lee Mason-Ellis the CEO of @thePioneerTPA described @MoulsecoombSch as "a school that appears to have huge potential". Do you have any idea why he might say that?

Maybe it& #39;s because @MoulsecoombSch isn& #39;t an inadequate school.

Maybe it& #39;s because when a school becomes an academy the Ofsted rating is wiped clean because it& #39;s considered to be a new school.

Maybe it& #39;s because the school is given plenty of breathing space after becoming an academy and should only expect a monitoring visit (which does not give an Ofsted rating) within the first 3 years.
