Years ago I once read an article, in which the writer, a woman, asserted that gay men may be the most misogynistic of the lot. She pointed to fashion, where she said a lot of designers are gay men and they have and push these unrealistic standards of beauty on women models

She spoke about how gay men who are fashion designers demand these extremely thin women, to portray beauty. She spoke about how gay men, because society denies it to them, will mock women unable to walk in heels. She wrote about how part of the bad physical health women live with

Can be attributed to the influence of gay men.

That theory lives with me. I have parts I disagree with and I have parts I still agree with today. But as a whole, that article helped shape my thinking and politics. Pity I can't find it online now.
