I hate to see our people being so humiliated like this. We have a barbaric government that thinks disease is fought by humiliating people. When do we actually stand up and say no? Shall we have to fight the police? https://twitter.com/NationAfrica/status/1385178147054817281
It's time we just looked at reality for what it is and named it. Kenya is an extremely Anglicized and violent police state. We have class politics that match England's, where the elite humiliate and show madharao for the 99%, and we Kenyans are so complacent.
We believe in "development" and "public health" at the expense of our humanity. Who are the people who are supposed to be protected from covid if they are the ones being herded like cows by the police?
And if we call for a nationwide protest, we start being lectured by the middle class.."Oh..wrong target." Or "it can't work." Or "where were you in 2017?" Or "you bitter women." Yet we can do something as simple as a boycott to galvanize people and send a message to politicians.
These crowds running away from police is the picture of fear that governs Kenya. How many police officers do we have in total? Some say 100k. How are 100k people terrorizing about 30million people? It can't be by arms alone. It's by mind control. We don't know how to say "No."
100k cops for 30m adults is about a cop for every 300 adults. And how many medical personnel do we have? One doctor per 6,300 Kenyans.

The budget allocations for police increased this year.

We need to start thinking along defunding the police.
And then as police herd healthy people into sickness they tell us that we must be responsible for protecting our children from sick adults.

This Kenya is psychotic. The devil comes to sleep in Kenya. https://twitter.com/TheStarKenya/status/1385793004028497925?s=19
