Moving to the US at a young age, I grew up believing that it was just the way it was and it took me a long time to understand the systemic racism and unpack all the damage and self-hate that comes with trying to survive in a white dominated culture

BIPOC folks aren’t born with this knowledge. My parents didn’t teach me shit. They dealt with it by keeping their heads down and working hard to give us a good life and opportunity to do better than they did. It’s on going work and learning.
