how to do diy resealable plastic to protect your albums from dust: a thread

materials needed:

scotch tape, scissors and a roll of plastic cover (lmao idk what is the correct term for this FILIPINOS JUST CALL IT PLASTIC COVER and hoped for the best)

Someone on twt posted this process already but I lost the link of that tweet so in case y'all found it, kindly link it so I can properly credit the user.

1st: Measure the amount of plastic cover needed and cut it! Make sure that it's not way too loose or too tight so you can still put it back after removing it from the plastic.

Important note:

It's important to leave at least 2-3 inches on the top and bottom of the album!

We all know that albums come with different sizes so I can't buy a set of resealable plastic for my albums (and it's pricey too esp if you have a huge amount of albums on your shelf) so I've decided to make it diy.

Make sure to leave allowance on top and bottom for the flaps!

2nd: the overlapping plastic is important especially for spineless albums like dcm. Tape it to the sides (check video for reference)

tip: overlap the plastic away from the spine so in case you wanna display, she be lookin cute

3rd and crucial step: cut the top part of the flap (the part with overlapping plastic) and tape the remaining flap on the bottom part to close it. BE CAREFUL NOT TO ACCIDENTALLY CUT THE ALBUM and leave 1/2-1cm for allowance

4th and last step: do the same thing to make a flap on the top BUT DO NOT TAPE IT since you need to slide the flap on the inside to make it "resealable". Also I show in this video the size difference of Delight and DCM and I was shocked that DCM IS BIGGER THAN DELIGHT

If you have the means, continue using resealable plastic to keep your albums dust free & to protect the quality of the cover. I just use this method when I ran out of resealable plastic to use and if the sizes are not available
