How to read more books (without getting lucky):
Pick up a book before picking up your phone in the morning.
Read an ebook while on the bus or train to work.
Listen to an audiobook while driving to work.
Get to your work desk 10 minutes early and spend that time reading.
Bring lunch from home and spend the rest of your lunch break reading a book.
Read for 10 minutes before watching TV or playing video games.
Replace movie night with your partner with book night and spend 30 minutes reading and then sharing what you've read.
Carry a book with you everywhere you go.
Listen to an audiobook while you walk the dog or do a workout.
Set screen time limits on your phone and read for 10 minutes before letting yourself open it up again.
Put your phone and laptop in another room before you start reading so you won't be tempted to pick them up.
Take only your keys and a book and head to your local park.
Set a daily meeting with yourself where you block out 30 minutes and the only thing you do during that time is read.
Quit books you aren't enjoying.
Read a book to your kids every night.
Read a book to your spouse.
Turn off your wifi at 10pm every night and put your phone on airplane mode so your only two options are either to read a book or go to sleep.
Keep a book on your nightstand as a way to wind down your brain for the night.
Keep a book on your nightstand as a way to warm up your brain for the day.
Buy more books than you can read so that you always have something new to read.
Quit reading the news and replace that time with reading books.
Quit playing video games and replace that time with reading (best decision I've ever made).
Read two books at the same time (a lighter read for when you're tired and a more serious read for when you have a lot of energy).
Set a daily goal to read 10 minutes a day.
Set a daily reminder on your phone to remind you to read 10 minutes a day.
