A "big artist" doesn't mean what y'all seem to think it means.
SOMEONE HAVING MANY FOLLOWERS ON TWITTER DOESN'T MEAN THEY'RE RICH, SUCCESFUL IN THE INDUSTRY AND/OR ANY KIND OF MATERIAL, REAL LIFE PRIVILEGE. GOD.
It's like saying someone is privileged because they got voted "best classmate" on high school. Follower count is a popularity contest. Popularity doesn't mean money, work, networking, success or privilege.
Follower count CAN come from hard work, money, networking and privilege but, like... on itself, it doesn't. Follower count means reach. That's it.
Even then, when an artist you perceive as succesful is telling you to CHARGE MORE MONEY FOR YOUR WORK, they're not bragging from their privileged ignorance. They’re giving you essential clues to their success.
And, well, this. I won't repeat myself. https://twitter.com/ThirdWorld_Art/status/1385737913049174016?s=20
