how to stop binge eating !!
rt if u want :]
rt if u want :]
remember, this is what is working/worked for me. everyones body and experience is different. it may not work for you, do what is best for your body. im not pro ana and im not promoting restriction. this is solely my experience and what helped me stop binging.
In making this, I hope I can help at least a few people stop binging. if u have any questions or want to vent about anything- feel free to dm me !! also, this thread is going to be really long with lots of words, so ill include screenshots from my notes and im super sorry if-
my grammar sucks n english sucks; yes ive spoken english for all my life, im not good at formulating sentences. my brain thinks too much n cant type/speak properly. ALSO If you get distracted easily n won't be able to read a lot, i made a short synopsis at the end of the thread.
step one; figure out why ur binge eating and try to cut it out of your life. write down what triggers your binges. personally, its from fasting too long, low res, and weighing myself. im currently doing a 15 day period of not to binging and not weighing myself, nothing permanent.
depression; im rlly fucking depressed sometimes and i feel like things dont matter so i binge. when it gets bad for me, i remember that this feeling is temporary. by giving into the urges, i know ill regret in the future and it isnt going to make me feel better in the long run.
step two; portion control and timely eating. i spread my eating into 3 periods. i dont eat until 3/4pm (school). my first meal is always an apple/banana with peanut butter and a fibre one bar. the next depends on how full i feel. after is my dessert, where i have a brownie/chips
step three; watch the food u eat. have less processed foods and carbs. the urges to binge went down, the more “healthy food” i ate. dont get me wrong, processed foods and carbs are healthy as long as u have it all in moderation. eating “healthy foods” like apples, bananas,-
step four; i think this goes without saying, but drink lots of water. if your like me, and its hard to drink water- i got u ! drinking water with straws is a lot easier and less overwhelming. drinking water that has lemons or is in a pretty cup motivates me. even if i cant drink-
water, i have carbonated water which is godly. its also a good binge suppressant. im not having 6 cups of water everyday- im not sure if anyone has that much water everyday- but i do have a cup of water every time i eat which helps me feel full faster. try eating slower !!
step five; distract yourself. yes i know, its the most generic tip but it works. if your like me, and its hard for u to distract urself, i also got u ! try watching a new show bcs youll get invested and if u cant stop thinking ab food, brush ur teeth, shower, wash ur hair, do ur-
nails and skincare. or if ur too depressed to do all that shit, go on twitter and interact with moots. talk to new ppl and youll eventually forget about it because binge urges are not permanent. they go away. you can last the 20 mins to hour urges. i know you can !!
its not going to be easy. not binging is so hard at first, but it becomes easier over time. during recovery, there are slip ups and even if u do slip up, dont feel too bad about it because its normal. ur new goal is to beat how long u stopped binging for. u can do it !!
my binge urges; When i had bad binge urges, i always reminded myself that the food i liked was gonna be there tmr. if my family already ate it, i can get it another day and eat it then. yeah there was a huge ass bowl of chips infront of me for days and even tho i wanted to binge-
on it all, i let myself have 5 chips per meal. i eat 3 times a day, so that equaled to 15 chips. When i want that binge feeling; chewy mushiness of dry food in ur mouth (you know what im talking about) i take 2 slices of calorie reduced bread, toast it and eat it plain.
SYNOPSIS;
1. find ur binge urges and try to cut it out.
2. make a 10-15 day period where you try not binge and try to motivate yourself
3. high restriction
4. eat 2 meals and a snack everyday or 3 meals
5. eat less processed/high carb foods, and eat more fruits n veggies
