someone needs to make a video or thread to demystify the way festival/event lineups are booked cuz im tired of seeing the same 4 tweets every week.
i didn& #39;t start learning ab how all this works until the last 2 years and i& #39;m STILL learning more about this shit every week

"why do they always have the same people"
"why dont <insert underground artist> ever get a chance"
"why is <insert artist that was hot 5 years ago> down there?"
"why is x headlining over y?"
"why does <insert industry plant> get bookings over <talented artist with no agent>?"

idk once i started to learn about how events are booked and the relationship between promoter, talent buyer, agent, manager, etc. combined with ticket sales and how they are analyzed the numbers are crunched a lot of things started to make A LOT more sense
tl;dr - at the end of the day this is a business and learning more about the business side will answer more questions about the product rather than screaming into the void about lineups
idk i feel like the community as a whole could benefit from this being more well known
