#shadowandbone just like in the books Alina accuses the darkling of killing and greed but she never reflects on her own actions. In ep 1 she got her whole team killed so she could selfishly follow Mal and it’s never mentioned, making her moral stand almost worthless
It’s this weird reversal where the narrative (especially in the books) never punishes her for whatever she does to get to Mal but punishes her for distancing herself from him and trying to come into her own and it’s one of the things that angers me more
Not to mention that no matter know Leigh tries to rewrite the story, her obsession with showing Mal as “the correct love interest” always works against Alina as a character because it only enhances Aleksander’s motivation as more reasonable even if he’s a “villain”
