Tatum shoots 72.8% at the rim with almost 18% of his shots coming from there. (Surprise to me.)
Bam shoots 78.9% at the rim with exactly 35% of his shots there.

You probably already knew that. But did you know this?
Many would tell you Tatum was elite from the mid range.. and he is.
But some would tell you he’s better than Bam, and you didn’t think twice.

From the 20 feet that spanned from the rim to the three point line, my mid range area,
Tatum has shot 40.4% this season.
Bam has shot 45.3%.
And this is with barely less attempts too, 422 compared to 488.

Now, 37% of Tatum’s shots are from the three point line, and he makes an even higher percent of them.
Bam has shot 8 threes all season and they’ve all been end of the quarter heaves—it isn’t one he’s added to his bag.
But you can’t tell me Bam wouldn’t be at least average.

Now Tatum is most likely the more talented scorer, but it’s a matter of efficiency vs volume (as usual). It isn’t as clear cut as you think.

Bam Adebayo is probably a top 3 playmaker as a center in the NBA.
He’s only averaging 6 assists per 75 possessions, which isn’t a lot in general, but elite for a big man.

While Tatum has the ball in his hands more than Bam, he doesn’t look to do the same.
He has less assists, more shot attempts and a playstyle more fitting to be a scorer. But just that. A scorer.
