People in the US are acting like the pandemic is over. But the truth is that we are complicit in one of the biggest moral catastrophes in history. While rich countries hoard the vaccines, coronavirus cases have hit a record global high.

The majority of the world may not have access to the vaccines for a couple of years.

Rich countries like the US are pursuing a vaccines-only pandemic strategy, hoarding supplies instead of implementing public health measures and sharing the vaccines. Unacceptable.
Experts and media keep trying to hold up countries like the US, UK and Israel as an example of success. But it is wrong to highlight them without speaking about their role in vaccine nationalism, which is prolonging the pandemic around the world. https://twitter.com/ashishkjha/status/1385657145941708802
Earlier this week, I spoke to Dr. @mariangelasimao from the World Health Organization.

She pleads: "If you are vaccinated, please fight for the right of other people in other countries to be vaccinated."

YES!
Remember: The pandemic doesn't end when we secure our own safety. We must keep fighting for the lives of everyone around the world.
