When I was 8 we found a dead body at the lake at like2pm. I can remember the smell and sight to this day, and it didn& #39;t phase me then. I just went on with my day later and played with bionicles and helped cook dinner. There are more interesting things irl, I assure you. https://twitter.com/HPJArt/status/1385447167129792515">https://twitter.com/HPJArt/st...
For context: we found a boat floating with no driver. The old man had a heart attack. He skin was burned and awful from the sun. his wife, jumped out of the boat and swam to shore and ran for miles trying to get to a ranger station through thicket that cut her to pieces.
She was covered in blood, in trauma, and exhausted. We got the boat pulled into the ranger station on the water before she found it. It was really traumatic on her, and I in no way mean to say her trauma wasn& #39;t real because it very much was.
As a child though, I could not have cared less about a dead body. Adults think they& #39;re traumatizing and the be all end all to drama. As a child I remember thinking "that& #39;s sad. People die all the time. Body probably should be out here. Hope the old woman is ok. What& #39;s for dinner?
Maybe this says .ore about me then it does about humans vs children& #39;s views of death and drama. Maybe I was insane as a child, idk. But dead bodies have never bothered me and I& #39;ve found two, and revived a dead lover in my arms.
