Also, nobody who has observed the woke capital movement really believes that these are all purely business decisions, free of government pressures & influences.
Free-market capitalism does not assume that all corporate decisions are correct (nor that all are wrong); it depends on the distributed trial and error of the marketplace over time to sift the good decisions from the bad.
The core function of markets is to bring together willing buyers with willing sellers. Much of what we see today - from external boycott threats to aggressively political stances by companies that alienate segments of their customer base - aims at the opposite of that.
