Thread: I lost my cousin at Gangaram @sgrhindia last night mostly likely due to oxygen shortage. His oxygen support was reduced and he waited for 18 hours to get a ventilator. But not a word from state or centre. Life has become so cheap that leaders don’t even care to comment.
25 patients died in one hospital in one night - READ IT AGAIN. Multiple reports say it was due to oxygen shortage. Hospital gives conflicting accounts. But no word from the leaders. Such silence is incomprehensible. Many of these patients could have been saved.
I tried everything - called anybody who could help. Nothing worked. The hospital said they didn’t have any free ventilator. This is India’s capital - can’t even imagine what’s happening in smaller towns.
We are being told to work as a nation to fight the virus. Dear leaders, I hope you also sort out your differences over oxygen quota etc. But what about those who die in the meantime? Who is answerable to their families? Maybe they just don’t matter.
Who will answer questions from my cousin Akhil’s two little children? And how will we forget his desperate last message - ‘please save me’. But we couldn’t. Sorry Akhil, I failed you. This country and its leaders failed you.
He was only 38 - no comorbidity. Please don’t go out, lock yourself in. Nothing is worth it.
My heart goes out to the families who have their loved ones in hospitals. Stay strong - virus is not the only worry, now you also have to worry about oxygen supply.
